Sports Massage
Pre & Post Event Massage, Injury & Recovery
Deep Tissue Massage is unlike other massage techniques that focus on relaxation. This rehabilitative sports massage is specific to the client’s postural issue helping to alleviate pain and return the body to full health. It reduces inflammation, breaks down scar tissue, and returns muscle and tendon flexibility to normal to treat muscle pain and improve stiffness as found in joints and ligament and tendons. It is commonly used amongst sports people who wish to regain freedom of movement that may otherwise be restricted due to adhesion knotts that result from injury or overexertion, resulting in a disruption of increased range of movement thus causing pain and inflammation.
Manual Cupping Massage creates suction and negative pressure which loosens muscles, encourages blood flow, and sedates the nervous system (which makes it an excellent treatment for high blood pressure). It is used to relieve back pain, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, and even cellulite.
This is a technique in which local suction is formed by creating negative pressure on the skin surface by using plastic cups. This treatment works by lifting the muscle off the bone. When used in conjunction with conventional massage this therapy creates a very effective form of treatment, resulting in Pain relief, inflammation, circulation and relaxation, improved immune system and ease of symptoms of stress. Deep Tissue cupping massage is a standalone treatment but can be used in conjunction with other therapies to provide the following
- Releasee rigid soft tissue
- Drain excess fluid and toxins
- Bring back length, form and function back to previously shortened and constricted muscles.
Injury recovering and manipulation reduces the chances of re-injury. This is very specific to the sports individual as it concentrates on a body and figure analyses. It considers any previous injures or weakness caused by overcompensation in the gate and postural integumentary influences as seen with fascia that holds everything in place and the environment it lives in. Pre-event sports massage is given within 4 hours of the preceding event and focuses on the parts of the body that is involved in the element of exertion. It can be a valuable tool for an athlete to either stimulate or calm the nervous athlete. It supplements an athlete’s warm-up and prepares them for top performance.
Post-event sports massage is given within 4 hours after the event as it helps to return the body’s muscular tissue to normal working capacity by bringing length back into the musculature, releasing the strain on the joints and clearing the muscles of lactic acid, thus promoting a faster recovery and continued uninterrupted training.
Medical Massage
Oncology & Serious Illness
Holistic Swedish Massage aims to treat the individual as a whole as seen with body, mind, and soul. Depending on the client’s needs, this modality aims to treat some of the most debilitating physical and emotional symptoms as seen with pain, anxiety and depression as it works with the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system. It can therefore transform lives with immediate effect as its sustained quality of the treatment can change from being relaxing and sedate to energising and restorative. As a supplement to therapy gentle cupping and lymphatic drainage will encourage pain relief.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a safe and gentle form of massage that encourages the movement of lymph fluid from around the body that may otherwise, due to illness become stagnant, causing pain and inflammation. Lymphatic Drainage Massage can resolve lymphedema and improve the symptoms of fibromyalgia, COPD, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease.
The fluid in the lymph system helps remove waste and toxins from the tissue in the body. Some health conditions can cause lymph fluid to build up. Manual Lymphatic drainage can benefit people with lymphedema, fibromyalgia, and other conditions.
This simple yet effective technique helps relieve sinus caused by cold and allergies. Facial sinus Massage consists of Maxillary, Frontal sinus and sphenoid / Ethmoid therapy. It consists of combining gentle pressure and warmth from the hands to dissolve congealed mucous that cause nasal congestion in the snus cavities.
- Congestion and Discharge
- Facial Pain
- Sinus Headaches
This is a chronic pain condition where the trigeminal nerve in the face becomes very agitated and inflamed. Here the muscles contract into waves of spasms and cramps thus causing extreme pain to the face and jaw which can affect the surrounding areas of the nose and forehead. Treatment for this condition can be sought by your general practitioner where a prescription of carbamazepine has proven to be effective. Alternatively, facial lymphatic massage has proven to not just stave off the condition temporarily but I have found that using this alternative treatment my clients have remained pain free for months at a time whilst only experiencing the initial tingling sensation to the face after months of a second visit. I found this treatment of facial lymphatic therapy to be cost effective and as a standalone pain relief treatment (without medical prescriptions required) my clients would highly recommend it.
Reflexology is an incredibly old Chinese acupressure technique and is used to improve various conditions. It works on energy pathways on the human body to promote circulation, energy, stress relief, and physical pain as seen with back, shoulder, neck stiffness, and headache. It also works with the endocrine and nervous system.
Acupuncture is an ancient treatment aimed to assist those struggling with medical, sporting, mental, and emotional issues. Pain Relief Massage focuses on palliative care. This palliative care massage addresses the client’s symptoms as seen with the side effects of the disease or the symptoms of the treatment of that disease. Such side effects can contribute to the various physical, psychological, social, and emotional consequences as seen when living with a terminal illness. This is a systemic form of touch therapy that can be carried out by either directly having contact with the person’s skin or through the individual’s clothing. This treatment generally focuses on soft tissue. This treatment promotes a greater sense of connection as seen between the mind, and body and soul.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a type of therapy that uses gentle pressure on specific points along your feet (and possibly on your hands or ears as well) to help you feel better. The theory is that this eases stress, and that helps your body work better. It’s also known as zone therapy.
The way reflexology connects spots on the outside of your body to the inside is a bit like acupuncture and acupressure. But those therapies use points all over your body, not just on your feet, hands, and ears. And while reflexologists do use their hands, it isn’t a form of massage.
Like those other therapies, though, reflexology is complementary to medical treatments. It can be done alongside traditional care, but it’s not an alternative to it, and reflexologists don’t diagnose or treat illnesses.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy (sometimes called hypnotic suggestion) is a therapeutic practice that uses guided hypnosis to help a client reach a trance-like state of focus, concentration, diminished peripheral awareness, and heightened suggestibility. This state is similar to being completely absorbed in a book, movie, music, or even one’s own thoughts or meditations. In it, a person is unusually responsive to an idea or image, but they are not under anyone’s “control.” Instead, a trained clinical hypnotherapist can help clients in this state relax and turn their attention inward to discover and utilize resources within themselves that can help them achieve desired behavioral changes or better manage pain or other physical concerns. Eventually, a client learns how to address their states of awareness on their own and in doing so, gain greater control of their physical and psychological responses.

Invigorating Head Massage relaxes the scalp through a message which incorporates clawing and striking movements used along-side with essential oils to heathen the scenes. Tension and stress are relieved through friction and circular motions focusing on pressure points and strokes through the hair.
Indian Head Massage encompasses the gentle sweeping, and circular motion like techniques that relieves tension held within the muscles of the neck and mid to upper back. By applying gentle but firm pressure with the pads of the hands, fingers, and thumbs on certain meridian lines this modality goes a long way to relieving migraines, insomnia, and fatigue. Ear candling is called “Ear coning or Thermal Auricular Therapy”. It is a pseudo scientific alternative medicine that can improve general health and well-being by lighting one end of a hollow candle and placing the other in the ear canal. The ear candles are composed of cotton tubes, impregnated with beeswax, honey and therapeutic essential oils. The lit candles creates a vacuum which has the effect of drawing out any impurities, relieving pressure in the head and sinuses which ultimately improve your hearing and general wellbeing. This treatment is followed by a facial massage and sinus drainage treatment, where the lymphatic system is activated in areas around the head, neck and sinuses. Here excess fluid is drained away from the affected areas allowing the client to relax whilst removing tension, stress and pain.

My pain was really bad as at times I would feel my face was been ripped off. After a further two treatments my pain disappeared for much longer. It has been 7 months since my last treatment and the spasms are just now rI first consulted Georgina hoping to gain relief from severe menopause symptoms and to increase my energy levels. After a thorough consultation, she prescribed a course of treatment that included reflexology, massage and acupuncture, the results were outstanding and immediate.
